Pregnancy Yoga with Deepa
This pregnancy yoga class can help to optimise better positioning of baby, reduce stress, improve digestion, increase comfort in pregnancy, and with more ease in labor and postpartum recovery, and a deeper bond between parent and baby.
This is an active class, where you will practice breathing in a way that helps make more space for internal organs and for baby. This kind of optimal breath can also help prevent excess pressure on the pelvic floor, which often leads to back pain, pelvic pain and pelvic floor problems during pregnancy and post-birth. You will practice using the feet, legs and core in an integrated way to support you through all the physical, emotional and spiritual changes that occur during pregnancy, labour and post-birth. As you move through some more challenging poses, you learn to soften rather than harden through the intensity. This allows you to respond more intelligently and resourcefully, conserving more energy for yourself and baby.
This class is based on the principles of the Poppy Yoga approach (Breath, Align, Support, Soften).
Starts again 13th September

She has trained with leading practitioners and trainers in their fields including the JING Institute of Advanced Clinical Massage, Tony Porter (Advanced Reflexology Techniques), Mauricio Kruchik (Maternity & Pregnancy Reflexology) and Ana Forrest, the founder of Forrest Yoga. Deepa's experience and ongoing training has helped to develop an intuitive sense for locating restrictions in the body where, often, there is an emotional aspect attached. Her sessions focus on improving body awareness and creating more space and freedom in the body.
In November 2016, Deepa assisted a 200hr Foundation Yoga Teacher Training and in early 2017, Deepa completed a 10-day Vipassana meditation course. Having experienced the benefits of yoga and meditation, Deepa wishes to continue her work towards empowering individuals through their own practice.
