Yoga for healthy backs ~ 6-week online course with Katrin Heuser

Are you suffering from back pain and would love to have a self-practice to help you manage or even fully get rid of it? Maybe it even feels like you simply want your life back? 

There could be a number of reasons, why your back is not happy: 
  • something structural, like scoliosis or a herniated disc
  • muscular tension, which could be a result of the structural challenges, or come from stress, or bad posture
  • injuries
  • conditions (especially inflammatory) related to your digestive organs
  • stagnation
  • kidney issues
  • or it could be from emotional turmoil or having to deal with something challenging

In this 6-week course, you will learn techniques, movements and sequences that help to alleviate the tension and pain patterns that have been building up over time, to re-establish communication and vitality in the whole body, to create a sense of spaciousness and lightness, and to maintain better structural support. Regain mobility and stability and potentially recover from an injury with more ease. A slow therapeutic practice will allow you to undo the painful holding and redevelop your innate strength.​

The approach of this course is based on a therapeutic foundation drawing from Eastern movement practices like Yoga and Qi Gong, embodiment, osteopathic principles as well as neuroscience. 
From her experience as a bodyworker as well as dealing with her own scoliosis, Katrin strongly believes that the human body is designed for healing. She always looks for ways to change the narrative of the stories that dictate our lives, from a story of pain and problems, to a story of healing and balance. She developed scoliosis as a teenager, and now looks at her own spine as her greatest teacher.

This course is for you, if...

  • you are willing and able to make the time for your practice - at least one class per week plus one self-practice
  • you bring a lot of patience. You have probably had this back pain for some time, and it might take a little while to improve
  • you are willing to look at the circumstances surrounding the back pain
  • you are committed to take control of your own health
  • you are ok with possible frustration coming up
  • you are interested to learn what's actually going on in the body

If you are however more into finding a quick/magical fix, then this is not the right course for you.
