Your Space - with Kate Kalvinos
A four week online experiential journey of self-enquiry
Space to be. Space to explore. Space for you.
The spaces we now inhabit have changed, both for the individual and the collective. Our freedom to visit new or familiar spaces has been retracted or restricted. We create illusions of shared spaces when meeting online in virtual ones. We long for some space for ourselves or crave to have our space filled with others. We are encouraged to appreciate the space we have. We wonder if we’re taking up too much or not enough space. We query what is or is not a safe space and whether we belong to it or need to belong in it. As external spaces transform around us our need for a secure internal space grows.
Join Kate on this four-week online experiential journey of self enquiry. The course will focus on the relationships we have with various types of spaces and how they may have changed, as well as encouraging the discovery and awareness of your own internal space as a place of stability and safety and offer practical techniques to return to this in times of uncertainty.
Facilitation of each session will be informed by the dramatherapeutic approach, meaning that Kate will offer creative exercises such as visualisation, story, art or embodiment to allow your unconscious mind the space to play and be seen. Dramatherapy is non-directive, non-judgemental and non-interpretive...exercises are designed to contain your expression and exploration and encourage reflection to gain insight and understanding.
A Space for Self Expression, Self Enquiry, Self Acceptance.
Why Creativity is helping us heal
Creativity is an innate quality that exists in us all. Being creative activates the right brain functioning, increasing attention to our inner world and allowing us to experiment, explore and tap into our true potential. The very act of creating or doing something to express feelings offers the individual a sense of empowerment. Through this creative expression we can begin to shift and transform what might otherwise remain stuck within, in order to experience different possibilities and perspectives.
