Yin Yoga with Isabel
Though this class is slow paced it doesn't mean that it's easy and as with any practice it's a practice and Yin Yoga is packed with amazing benefits for body and mind.
Yin Yoga is a very different and complementary practice to any other more Yang (dynamic) yoga practices. Time and stillness are the key elements, so Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. The practice works with our energy body, clearing blockages in nadis (meridians) and increasing the flow of prana or chi, improving the health of our organs as well as increasing our energy and promoting a general sense of wellbeing. Autumn Hatha Yoga with Amanda
After all the outdoors joy and expansion during Summer, now in Autumn our body's energy slows down directing itself to harvest all the seeds that we've planted. It is also time to cultivate with balance what is supposed to last longer and be aware of what is necessary to release and let go of in order to maintain our nourishment.
In Yoga teachings, we say a tree needs strong roots to grow and blossom. Just as in a spiritual path, one needs physical and mental structure to get a subtle contact with a higher connection. After the high amount of external light and movement, the conditions of this season bring the sap to settle on the inside. The roots grow deep and invite us to let go of the euphoria in order to cultivate more equanimity. In turn removing the fog that prevent us from seeing our true Self that acts from the heart instead of from place of reactivity. In this Hatha Yoga practice you will be gradually creating structure using gentle breathwork to harmonise the nervous system as well as gentle body practices focused on permanence, stretch and relaxation. This is intended to nourish ourselves with vital energy that keeps our energetic system in balance, creating a holistic condition of physical and mental health. You will then dive into a Yoga Nidra, a release of subconscious blocks, to connect deeper with what is there in your essence, finishing with a meditation for integrating this state of the true being. Kundalini Yoga with Amanda
Our natural state of being in the world is naturally brave, creative, abundant, confident, compassionate and intuitive, but since our birth, through conditioning, our behaviour has hardened, resulting in obstructed energy flow. This leads us to act based on previous experiences and live through attachment, fear, lack and attempt to control. This further results in great distress and detachment from our natural origin of embracing everything around us.
Kundalini Yoga is an effective way to clear the clouds that block us from seeing the infinite dimension of Ourselves that gets the energy flowing again by revitalising the physical and energetic structures. It creates space for the Soul to express Itself again. This practice starts with a quick Mantra Chanting for connecting with this powerful teaching, followed by breathwork and then a Kriya. This is a sequence that goes from long-held postures to dynamic moves. After this sequence, which also includes relaxation moments, the class finishes with a meditation. This usually includes chanting and movements as taught by this tradition. The sound vibration connects you to a healing intention. More about Amanda |
