Movement Based Therapy with Kirsten
Little Yoga Space is thrilled to be partnering with Kirsten Wilkinson from Healing Motion to offer online and in person somatic therapy and holistic wellness consultations and private sessions. Kirsten is here to hold space for you while you discover your innate wisdom, restore your embodied strength, and transcend to holistic wellbeing through somatic/ movement based therapy and integrative mind/body practices.
So what is Somatic / Movement Based Therapy?
This type of therapy approaches someone’s mental, physical and emotional health through the mind/body connection.
Through body based practices, somatic therapy bridges the gap between talk therapy and body based, integrative restoration for more comprehensive preventative medicine.
Somatic embodied practices can break down feelings of freeze, overwhelm, anxiety, depression, dissociation, and PTSD while also assisting with chronic pain, sleep irregularity, and symptoms of stress. It can also be a gateway to more self agency, empowerment, and nurturing resilience after a traumatic experience or while managing chronic trauma.
