Art at Little Yoga Space
Art is communication and a sign of life.
In 2022 we decided to bring Art as a modality to Little Yoga Space. We love working with local artists and want to bring Art to the community. This might be in form of exhibitions, but also workshops and events, where everyone can get involved and tap into their own creativity. As we know, creativity and expression form important parts of our human nature.

Current Exhibition - A coleção de Lisboa by Thomas (Tommy) Grainger
The beauty of Lisbon has been depicted here in a range of paintings that concentrate on the classic residential buildings and architecture that make up this wonderful city.
Tommy, who once lived in the grey, industrial city of Manchester, has been fascinated by the colour palette of Lisbon. Water colours compliment the pastel tints, and the quirky illustration style offers the characteristics that make this city so interesting.
Each painting is a part of Lisbon that Tommy has admired and captured first hand. Every piece is titled with the name of the street, so you have the opportunity to explore the inspiration behind the art.

About Tommy
Tommy has been painting since he was able to pick up a paintbrush. It has become not only a hobby, but a strong part of his creative lifestyle.
After studying stop motion animation at University in England, Tommy became an art director for the BBC and various Children’s TV productions at animation studios in Manchester and Birmingham, building up his experience over the years. Tommy’s animation career brought him to Lisbon in 2020, where he joined the team at Sardinha em Lata to help the production Os Demónios Do Meu Avô (My Grandfather’s Demons); Portugal’s first animated feature film. Going hand in hand with his animation profession, Tommy continues his love for painting, especially with water colours. This has become his favourite medium and with his quirky illustration technique, he has combined inks and paints to create his own style. This exhibition showcases Tommy’s Lisbon collection depicting a range of Portuguese street and building profiles. Lisbon has such a beautiful spectrum of colours and shapes with its winding cobbled paths and mosaic tiles; it truly lends itself to Tommy’s style of painting.
