Thai Yoga Massage for Pregnancy
Massage during pregnancy can help to reduce stress, release tension, balance hormone levels, improve the potential for successful delivery and promote the health of mother and baby. In Thai Yoga Massage for pregnancy we use a range of bolsters, cushions and blankets and different body positions so that you and the bump are fully supported and comfortable throughout the session, so you can fully enjoy the benefits of this gentle bodywork.
Pregnant women have reported a relief from nausea and fluid retention, release of tension in their back, around their hips and neck, an improvement in their breathing capacity, and the ability to sleep much better after having received a Thai Massage.
As the baby grows, the body keeps adjusting and you may feel all squashed in different areas. Using the gentle stretches and movements of Thai Yoga Massage, we can encourage much needed spaciousness and softness back into your body.
During pregnancy, many women feel a little overwhelmed, stressed and emotional. And those feelings naturally get stored in the body and translate into physical discomfort. As with all Eastern practices, in Thai Massage we work on the whole Being, looking to re-establish balance and harmony on all levels.

What happens in a session
A Thai Yoga Massage treatment normally takes 1.5 hours, but for people with very little time, I also offer a 1 hour option. The treatment is done on a futon on the floor. The client is fully dressed in comfortable clothing such as leggings and t-shirt. The massage is a combination of acupressure and yoga-like stretches with the therapist using hands, thumbs, feet, forearms, elbows and knees to stimulate the body’s energy flow through the ‘sen’ lines.
