Death Meditation 9-week journey with Myrthe Peters
Experience a new perspective on the process of the dying of our physical body through meditation.
Come and contemplate death, particularly our physical body. This series of Nine Contemplations is a practice through a visual exercise or as part of a spiritual journey. In death meditation, we use a focused mindset to reflect on what the death of our physical body means to us and how it can help us live more fully. This practice has existed since the 11th century and was introduced by Buddhist scholar Atisha. The fact that we’re still practising it all these centuries later, says a lot about its potency. Over nine weeks we will cover one contemplation per session. Each session has the same framework and “getting into the body”-exercise but the contemplation differs weekly. The Nine Contemplations are as follows:
The sessions include the following:
These contemplations can bring up various insights and feelings which we could interpret as valuable information to shape our lives in the here and now. |
