​Foundations of Ayurveda: Longevity and Preventative Health

Foundations of Ayurveda: Longevity and Preventative Health will touch upon how Ayurvedic Medicine can transform your current life experience and balance out your underlying birth body/mind/spirit constitution though diet, daily routine, and personal practice.

About this Course:​

In this 8 class series you will learn by doing. This course will offer you foundational education in Ayurvedic Medicine from a practical experience and self-care perspective with the intention of making Ayurvedic Health more accessible.

This will be a mindful and and joy-filled path to understanding your personal constitution, your current health strengths, and understanding your mind/body/spirt imbalances in order to take action for your longevity and overall holistic health.

This course will define Ayurveda, explore the five elements, dive into qualities of foods and eating for the season, the doshas, learning more about your personal recommended diet, daily routines according to your body type, seasonal cleanses, plus cooking instruction and recipe resources.

This 20Hr Course is designed for: 

  • Anyone interested in shifting their personal health and wellness focus to a more holistic path.
  • Experienced, new and novice yoga teachers and yoga business owners hoping to integrate trauma informed and accessible yoga in studio, online and community settings.
  • Health, social, service, and community professionals hoping to integrate yoga, embodied, and mindful somatic practices with a trauma informed approach into their existing practice, organizations, and work.
  • Activists, humanitarians and social justice advocates hoping to add somatic awareness, embodied practices and community connection to their social justice and systemic change agendas.

​About Kirsten:

MA, TCTSY-F, Mind/Body Practitioner, Somatic Experiencing Advanced Cohort, iRest and Qi Gong Certified Instructor, Ayurvedic Health.

Kirsten has over 20 years of working with moving bodies, trauma, and building trauma informed curriculum. She is the Executive Director of Legacy Motion, an NGO that supports individuals and communities impacted by trauma by offering sustainable programing and trainings to community members in restorative movement based practices and somatic therapy modalities.

Each program and project honors traditional healing methods, supports the collective human experience, and provides learning opportunities to aid in accessible and equitable mental healthcare through the mind/body connection. She is also the founder of Healing Motion, a private practice that offers somatic therapy modalities that assist individuals in discovering their innate wisdom, restoring their embodied strength, and transcending to holistic wellbeing.
