Do you feel tension, stagnation, pain, or like you are collecting stress in your body?
If the answer to any of these question was “yes”, then it might mean your fascia is ready for some attention and care. Our fascia holds memory. It is connective, separating, supportive and a major sensory and communication organ in our bodies. It holds together and separates all of our muscles, bones, ligaments, internal organs, and tendons while absorbing impact from daily life. But, our fascia can become damaged, brittle, and misaligned, causing other health symptoms, pain, and stiffness in our bodies. In this 6 class course we will be exploring practices that elongate your fascia, myofascial release, breath work that supports the massage of your subtle fascia, and tracing our connection between fascia, meridian lines and overall health. The approach of this class is based on both scientific methodology and personal exploration. Kirsten focuses on 3 of the 12 major fascial lines in our bodies for this series through movement, pressure points, breath, and short informational discussions on anatomy and connection. Through interrelated projects Legacy Motion dedicates itself to evaluating, creating and implementing high quality sustainable programs based on experience and collaborations in the field. Her professional dance career spans over 10 years during which she performed with such companies as The San Francisco Ballet, David Dorfman and Heidelberg Ballet. She has held positions at The Library of Congress, Dance Heritage Coalition, and various adjunct professorships at American University Cairo, University of Oregon, University of Hawaii and many more. After much physical trauma sustained in a car accident, she has found sanctuary in her yoga practice and teaching. She is a certified Hot Yoga and 200YTT yoga instructor with thousands of hours teaching moving bodies. Kirsten’s training comes from a broad background including Yoga Philosophy, Yoga Nidra, Alexander Technique, LabanNotation, Dance Therapy, TCTSY, and Mind/Body Therapy.
